Viva Espana

we made it back after a long vakay in barcelona. i'm too tired to write about it (i uploaded so many pictures that it took forever and now it's late). i'll have to write about it in another post.

the Sagrada Familia (the Sacred Family)...barcelona's most famous building built by architect Gaudi. this is one of the coolest buildings i have ever seen. i don't have very many pictures of it (like the backside...which was super cool) cause my dang camera died while we were inside and i forgot my charger back in the states...DANG IT!! the building is still under construction and has been for like 100 years (or somewhere around there).

even rocco's in awe of the beauty of this building...he really is staring up at it...oh yeah, and note the chubby cheeks and persed lips. he's been doing this so much lately...love it, love it :)

i can't remember what this is called but they were originally apartment buildings for the upper class...doesn't this building remind you of a fairytale? i love artsy fartsy shtuff (h-intended) but i never gave architects the credit they deserved...so, here it is: Gaudi, you get my star

my favorite of his by far (because it's a park and i love being outside), park guell (spelling?).

from left to right: isaac's cousin palmira, rocco, palmira's son diego, isaac, and isaac's mom norma (pda couple not part of the group)...we're still at park guell

diego loved rocco and kept taking his picture over and over and over and over again :)...just like his mommy :)

the lip thing i was talking about earlier

this next building is a catholic chapel (that's what isaac said they're called...i'm doubting him right now but don't know what else to put so that's what they'll be for now). this was a part of barcelona that was left over from the roman empire. i took the picture at night and had to lighten it a TON in photoshop (hence the super white faces).

this is the famous street Las Ramblas...lots of shopping and big tourist hotspot. i shoulda taken more pictures but it was night and so i figured i'd go back in the day but my battery died before i made it back :( wahhh.

rocco bathing...isaac's mom didn't have a bathtub so this is what we used and he loved it.

the view on norma's (isaac's mom's) balcony. she lives on the 9th floor. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L (not the buildings...the park and view behind the buildings)

center of the city...so many pigeons, so much poop...ugh

abuelito augusto...he's super old! almost 95, yikes! rocco loved him...i did, too...he would say the randomest things (isaac translated for me cause me no hablo espanol) or you'd ask him a question and he'd decide that he didn't feel like answering so he'd say something like "are you leaving yet?" haha, old people are funny. oh yeah, and another funny thing was his cane. he said it was his toy...one day i saw him squishing something black with the bottom of his cane (he was sitting down as he was doing this cause he can't really move) and i was so scared cause i thought it was a spider (AHHH, i hate em!)...i called for isaac and told him to ask his grandpa what he was doing...the reply was "i'm pickin' up all this garbage...it's my game!" ok, so it was so much funnier than what i just wrote. seriously, i could stare at him (and his wife) all day and not be bored cause they were so un-purposely funny (not sure if that was a word but you get it right)

abuelita petronilla
rocco's grandma norma (isaac's mama)...she was sick in this picture and didn't want me to take it...i'm glad i did cause i didn't take hardly anymore while we were there.

isaac's cousin and her son: palmira and diego...rocco loved loved loved diego.

the last pictures i'm gonna share of spain are the graffiti ones...despite what people say, i love graffiti...it think that it is amazing (i so wish my camera didn't die so i coulda taken more)...nuff said

So good to hear from you! I'm so glad you have a blog as well and I finally get to see your little boy. So cute! I've got to say I wasn't the biggest fan of Grandma doing Christmas a week early. Christmas day didn't quite feel the same. I'm also sad that we didn't get to see you guys. You came in town right before we left. Hopefully one of these days I'll actually get to see your little guy in person. Hope all is well with you guys and please keep in touch. By the way, how long are you all going to be in Spain?

WOW!!! I didn't realize there was so much beautiful architecture in Spain. It is so amazing they could build stuff like that so many years ago. I am glad you made it back safely.
